Reiki

Reiki is a form of intergraded alternative medicine called energy healing. Reiki practitioners use a technique called palm healing or hands-on healing through which "universal energy" is channeled. A healing technique; energy is transferred through the palms of the practitioner to the client in order to encourage emotional well-being or restore physical healing. The client is fully dressed during this gentle healing experience.

The word Reiki (pronounced “ray-key”) comes from the Japanese words “rei” meaning spirit and “ki” meaning energy. It is written with two Japanese kanji, or characters. These kanji mean “spiritual energy” or "universal life energy". This treatment opens and balances the chakras.

Chakras are swirling wheels of energy that correspond to massive nerve centers in the body. Each of the seven main chakras contains bundles of nerves and major organs as well as our psychological, emotional, and spiritual states of being. A Reiki treatment also increases energy flow throughout the body's meridians and brings a deep state of relaxation.

Learn the essence of Reiki. You leave class with a certificate, and notebook, fully trained to do Reiki on yourself, others, plants and animals.

In this Level 1 training—designed for beginners to experienced practitioners—expand your healing abilities as you explore how Reiki can reduce stress, relieve pain, balance emotions, and facilitate personal healing and spiritual growth. In Level 1:

Explore the history and applications of Reiki
Receive attunements to empower yourself as a conduit for channeling life-force energy
Practice Reiki on yourself and others.

Reiki Level 2 Training - $400

Reiki 2 focuses and intensifies Reiki 1 energy. Learn ancient, powerful, healing symbols and protocols to strengthen your Reiki skills, send Reiki long-distance, heal emotions, and soothe and comfort yourself and others. These sacred symbols are the key to why Reiki is a path that can lead to enlightenment and inner peace. You receive the Reiki 2 attunement, and learn a special technique for manifesting intentions. In Level 2, you learn

Ancient Reiki symbols and how to apply them for additional empowerment. Highly effective, these symbols support healing and expansion in all areas of life, both for yourself and others
To access cellular memory to heal challenging emotional situations
To offer Reiki to people and situations at a distance.

REIKI SHARES: A GATHERING FOR PRACTITIONERS

Reconnect. Recharge. Realign your energy in community.

Join us for a Reiki Share at Petra's Wellness Studio, co-hosting with Kelly McDermott-Burns of Heart Song Reiki. Together, we will co-create a healing space where everyone both gives and receives Reiki, recharging your spirit and strengthening your flow. A nurturing space for practitioners to exchange energy, deepen connection, and receive support from fellow healers.

This circle is open to Reiki practitioners of all levels. It is a group healing session as we take turns in receiving Reiki and giving others Reiki. It is perfect for those who work in the healing space who often find themselves with little time to practice their own spiritual health. The event encourages community and connection in an equal exchange of energy.

Come as you are. Bring your presence, your hands, and your heart. Themes, tea, gentle music and equipment included. Feel free to bring your favorite things to share, or any donations of cash will be given to the Rutland County Humane Society and donations of can goods accepted for the Food Shelf. Thank you!

USUI REIKI AWARENESS DAYS ~ August 15 - 22

Reiki Awareness Days in celebration of Dr. Mikao Usui’s birthday and celebration of the life of Phyllis Furumoto (22 August 1948 – 31 March 2019). We also celebrate the lives of Chujiro Hayashi and Hawayo Takata.

On 15 August, 1865 Dr. Usui, founder of Reiki, was born. What better way is there to honor Dr. Usui and the gift he brought to us than to spend the day in Reiki awareness, promoting Reiki among those who don't know about this powerful healing system, as well as sharing Reiki with those who do.

Absent Reiki

Using Reiki in important situations supports you, achieving your goals, for your highest healing good. A distant treatment is immensely useful for those times when you, family or friends are at a distance from the Reiki Master. This Reiki technique empowers you to have Reiki sessions customized for your specific interests; also a beautiful balancing of your energy centers (chakras); sometimes clearing past emotional trauma and blockages within you. Reiki will boost your natural healing system, as well as give you more peace and self confidence.

~ Distant Reiki is very useful with challenging situations. Even though you’re not physically present with Petra, you can receive Reiki from her.

~ Many people describe Reiki sessions as soothing and comforting.

~ Reiki can be a very powerful method; it can help with pain relief, chronic illness, post-surgical recovery, mental and emotional challenges and dealing with strong emotions such as anger, anxiety, rejection, grief or depression.

~ It is an excellent complement to traditional medical and mental health therapies.

We will schedule your healing appointments when you can be comfortable and able to receive Reiki. After the session is complete we will have a conversation telephone, Zoom or email. Working with Petra you will gain individualized energy work and support.

Animal Reiki Animal Reiki is founded on the traditional Japanese Usui Reiki and is a form of meditation with animals. It can help sensitive and/or traumatized animals to recover faster and be happy again. Reiki can help your animal with general wellness, stress, moving, boarding, surgery, illness, injury, behavioral, and end of life. During a Reiki session, animals often experience a deep state of peace as the Reiki clears imbalances, allowing for new and harmonious patterns of health and wellness to emerge. Physical contact is not a requirement for Reiki and traditionally the practitioner offers Reiki to the animal hands off. This way, the animal controls the treatment, either accepting Reiki from a distance or settling themselves against the practitioners hands. Many people have unique experiences in connecting with and learning from the animals themselves.
